As a Board Member and Creative Director, I design a platform specifically for Asian students and culture enthusiasts at Pratt. The goal is to create a dynamic space for students and alumni to connect, share resources, and also discover events related to Asian culture.

Since over 40% of students noted a lack of community and connection on campus, leading us to explore how they access information for college life. Many rely on informal platforms like gossip Instagram pages, which often provide delayed, inconsistent, or no responses.

Problem

Asian students lack a reliable, interactive platform to connect with peers and experts—leading to missed opportunities, frustration, and a disjointed experience in finding academic and career support.

Takeaway

This project was a challenging yet rewarding experience that emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication. As a long-term project, we had to continuously align on design direction and make compromises to balance user needs with technical constraints. Open discussions and A/B testing helped us refine our choices and find common ground. I learned the value of flexibility and collaboration, ensuring that our decisions remained focused on creating a user-centered, impactful design while fostering a productive team dynamic.
